Daily Thought – A supernatural battle

Fight the good fight of faith. 1Tim.6:12

Story: The king of Jerusalem heard that the people of Gibeon had made a treaty of peace with Israel and had become their allies. So King of Israel along with 4 other kings attacked Gibeon, people of Gibeon asked Joshua to come and help.

Joshua went and fought and defeated all the kings, two outstanding miracles happened in this campaign. One: when enemy fled before Israel the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them, and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites. Two: when Joshua prayed, the sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.

Lesson: We know Lord is always the same, then why there is no outstanding miracles like this now. Is it because Lord is not able to find a man like Joshua. Can we be the Joshua of this generation? And also how could Joshua pray for something that is beyond our imagination? Where is that kind of faith ?

Lord fighting on our behalf, but there is duty that we need to do, fight with the sword (Prayer), and the Lord will reply to our prayer by hail (devouring power). Where is our hope? Are we overwhelmed by our situation, then lets step forward in faith.

Prayer: Father Lord, help me to be a man of faith and a man of prayer. Amen.

Daily Thought – Only one Way – Prayer

VerseIn peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8

Thought: Now we might be going through a tough situation. We might not be sure how to face tomorrow. Let us pray like the Psalmist “Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer” Psalm 4:1. What is the assurance that our Lord will answer.

Everything in the world belongs to God, but Lord has set His people apart, and when we call on the Lord, He will answer. The word says “Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him” Psalm 4:3

When we are tensed, let us be careful what we pray, especially when we go to bed with a heavy heart “when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.” Psalm 4:4. Let us not grumble, let us not question, but let us make our request “Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God”. Psalm 4:1 Let us “Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD” Psalm 4:5

Prayer: Dear Lord, 2 Chro 20:12 “For we have no power to face this …. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you” Amen.

Daily Thought – Worship is …

“God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth” John 4:24

How to worship? When to worship? We all know and have learned a lot about worship. There is power in worship. There is deliverance in worship. Let us discuss very few things about of worship. True worship is in truth and by the Holy Spirit avails great things.

Worship is Habit: Mark 14:26 ” And when they had sung an hymn, they went out into the mount of Olives” One of the toughest days in the life of Jesus, last supper with His disciples. Still that day all of them sang together. I believe it was a regular habit for them. Worship should be our lifestyle.

Worship is JoyPsalm 100:2 ” Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs” Worship should not be done to please the Lord alone. It should be done in great joy. We should be bubbling with happiness when we get into a place of worship.

Worship is alwaysIsaiah 62:6 ” You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest” Not just in church or prayer groups. Worship the Lord always. Rejoice always, let there be songs in our heart every moment of our life. Let our life bring glory to God. Whatever brings glory is worship. Let our life be filled with songs and gratitude.

Prayer: Teach me Lord to worship you in truth and in sprit. In Jesus name. Amen.

Daily Thought – How to be rewarded ?

Your Father…, will reward you  Mat 6:4

We all want our Heavenly Father to reward us. We want our Heavenly Father to bless us. Jesus taught us how to receive reward from heavenly Father.

Secret Giving: Jesus said “your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” Mat 6:4. We received the blessing from God, that’s why we have finances, make sure we give to the needy and missions as Jesus taught, but when we give let it be secret giving and purpose should not be to show others.

Secret Praying: Jesus Said “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” Mat 6:6. Private prayers should be much more than our public prayers. And never pray in public to impress others.

Secret Fasting: Jesus said “so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” Mat 6:18. Corporate fasting for a common goal is good, but our secret fasting should be very strong and while fasting let us present ourselves strong in front of the world, never do it as an act of righteousness.

Prayer: Our Father who is in heaven, help us to have a strong secret giving, praying and fasting in this coming days of our lives. Amen.

Daily Thought – Expectation

“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.” Psalm 143:10

Psalmist has a deep longing to do God’s will and to be led by the Holy Spirit at every moment. This is the same expectation our Heavenly Father have about us. Let us study the expectation Lord had about the Levities, the word says in New Testament Lord has given priesthood to all of us.

Serve: “The LORD said to Moses.. .. They are to perform duties for him and for the whole community..” Num 3:5,6 Lord desires us to partner with Him to fulfill His purposes, Wow coworker of God. Let us ask the Lord what am I supposed to do today?

Dedicated: Lord said “… they are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to him” Num 3:9. Our priority and focus should be the Lord and not the things of this world.

Separated: “for all the firstborn are mine. .. I set apart for myself every firstborn in Israel, .. They are to be mine. I am the LORD.”  Num 3:9. Remember Lord allowed His only Son Jesus to be crushed on the cross, so we could be set apart. We are separated.

Obedient: So Moses counted them, as he was commanded by the word of the LORD. Num 3:16. Let us listen and obey the word of the Lord. Obedience is wonderful when we obey the one who loves us the most.

Prayer: Father Lord, help me to serve you in all dedication. Thank You Lord for separating me, anoint to me to obey your word. Amen.
